I have been told that excessive alcohol intake by men may result in their man boobs, or ‘moobs’ as my boyfriend so fondly calls them when not referring to them as Sid and James, growing larger. Should I be worried that my boyfriend seems to take great joy in his moobs, which are now definitely larger than they were 6 months ago? Should I tell him that he needs to diet or lay off the sauce so that he can start to look more like a man? I am most worried about the fact that he enjoys them for other reasons too but I am hoping that you can help me before we go down any other route!

Alex, had you not considered that this could be a glandular problem and as such, deserving of your care and affection? That said, his glands can't be blamed for forcing him to sink the drink, and the jokes about "Sid" and "James" sound less like a plea for help than a dangerous slide into complacency, so action sounds necessary. However, do not under ANY circumstances bring this subject up yourself, no matter how sensitively you may feel you're able to approach it. This will just sound like nagging, make him feel defensive and might even lead to him drinking more out of spite. Nor would buying him a bra be the approach to take. Far better to get his friends to take the piss out of him for his recent cleavage growth. Peer pressure has had it's critics, but when used wisely it can be devastatingly effective. There is always the danger, of course, that he and his friends might consider a moob-growth competition - a mighty moob tournament - but this is, all things considered, unlikely.
